The origin of the Piedmont National Corporation dates back to the South shortly after the Civil War when great-uncles of current owners founded packaging businesses in Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX.  The founders left Europe in the 19th Century to look for a better life, just as Hugh Marx, the father and grandfather of current owners, was forced to leave Germany in late 1938 due to the country's worsening political and economic conditions. As a result, he and his family settled in Little Rock, AK where he worked for a paper company and rode a streetcar to call on customers because he couldn’t afford to buy a car.

In 1948, Mr. Marx moved to Atlanta, Georgia and became a sales manager for a prominent paper company. In 1950, when that company was on the market to be sold, he launched Piedmont National from his home with the help of his wife Paula. The formula was simple – provide quality products, prompt delivery and first-class service.

Building a legacy, the Marx children and grandchildren commenced to expand Piedmont National and now, six decades later, the third-generation management maintains strong family ties.  Today, Piedmont National provides customized packaging solutions to a nationwide client base from 10 locations in the Southeast.

By fostering and maintaining the “Customer 1st" discipline, Piedmont National takes great pride in being an accessible, family-run business with high records for customer retention and personalized service.  Thorough processes and industry experience are paramount to the standing reputation for excellence.  With a collective 300+ years of experience, management continues to put quality first and provide sincere commitment to customer support and service.
